The challenge

The growing popularity of the i-work@nbg program made it challenging for the recruitment team to efficiently evaluate candidates while ensuring a fair and consistent selection process.

At the same time, NBG aimed to modernize the recruitment journey in order to:

  • Offer a modern candidate experience
  • Engage digital-native candidates
  • Enable participation from candidates across Greece and abroad
  • Efficiently assess a large number of applicants
  • Reduce administrative workload
  • Improve recruitment timelines

These challenges highlighted the importance of introducing a digital, objective, and scalable screening solution.

The solution

Evalion-SHL supported the National Bank of Greece to implement a structured, digital assessment stage that allowed the recruitment team to evaluate candidates efficiently and objectively.

Through SHL’s online assessment platform, candidates completed mobile-enabled, computer-adaptive tests that measured reasoning and numerical skills with high precision. The adaptive format ensured shorter testing time while maintaining measurement accuracy, enabling assessments to be conducted efficiently in a remote and flexible environment.

The tools used included:

SHL Verify Interactive – Deductive Reasoning

An interactive, adaptive assessment measuring candidates’ ability to analyze information, evaluate arguments, and draw logical conclusions to solve problems.

SHL Verify Interactive – Numerical Reasoning

An adaptive assessment evaluating the ability to interpret numerical and statistical data, identify trends, and make evidence-based decisions in realistic workplace scenarios.
