Self vs Reality: What 70.000 360° assessments reveal about leaders in Greece

The way leaders perceive themselves does not always align with how others experience and evaluate them.
This is confirmed by Evalion’s latest research, based on 70,000 360° assessments from 2,441 leaders across 49 companies and 8 industries in the Greek market.
Key Findings
The analysis reveals a consistent pattern of gaps between self-perception and external evaluation. Specifically, leaders tend to overestimate their performance in critical capabilities, such as Achievement Orientation & Initiative.
At the same time, the research highlights the opposite trend: capabilities that leaders tend to underestimate are consistently recognized by their evaluators as strong areas, their hidden strengths.
Why It Matters
The gap between self-perception and external perception is a critical factor in leadership development. This is not a theoretical difference, but a gap that directly impacts the leader, their team, and the organization as a whole.
